Colorado to Deploy COPLINK® in a Statewide Law Enforcement and Public Safety Information Sharing Initiative
The State of Colorado, through the efforts of the Colorado Information Sharing Consortium (CISC), is the most recent of several states to announce the implementation of an initiative that will deploy the award winning COPLINK® Solution Suite statewide.
TUCSON, AZ - The software made by Knowledge Computing Corporation (KCC) is used for tactical lead generation and allows comprehensive information sharing and collaboration among local, regional, state and national law enforcement and public safety agencies.
Aurora Chief of Police Dan Oates has been involved in the project since its inception. "Because of the mobile nature of criminal activity, sharing information across jurisdictional lines has become imperative for effective law enforcement," said Oates. "With COPLINK, agencies all across Colorado will be able to analyze information not only from their own databases but from any number of databases across the state. This will give the officers of Colorado an effective tool to get criminals off the street faster."

The CISC is the governing board of the COPLINK implementation initiative and is comprised of the following seven public safety leaders, or "core partners": Adams County Sheriff's Office, Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, Aurora Police Department, Colorado Bureau of Investigation (a branch of the Colorado Department of Public Safety), Denver Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and Grand Junction Police Department.
A pro forma cost model was created and agreed to by the consortium. Because it was structured after the long standing tier-based pricing used by KCC, the CISC was able to secure a single license fee for the software to cover use by the sworn law enforcement population of the entire state. This means that even the smallest offices in Colorado will be in a position to have access to and take advantage of this advanced crime fighting and information sharing technology. In addition to the core partners, several other agencies have already taken advantage of the opportunity and signed up to join the project. COPLINK will be fully operational in the majority of these outfits by the end of 2008.
